As a dental office treatment coordinator, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office and providing excellent customer service to patients. Your responsibilities will involve a combination of administrative tasks and patient care coordination. Here's a general job description for a dental office receptionist and treatment coordinator:

Greeting and Scheduling: Welcome patients and visitors in person and over the phone and assist them with scheduling appointments. Maintaining the appointment book, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.

Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Register patients, verify and update their personal and insurance information. Collect co-payments and process payments for services rendered. Provide necessary forms and documents for new patients, as well as instruct patients on office policies and procedures.

Insurance Coordination: Verify patients' insurance coverage, obtain necessary authorizations, and process insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any billing or coverage issues.

Treatment Coordination: Assist dentists in treatment planning and presenting treatment options to patients. Educate patients about recommended procedures, costs, and available financing options. Schedule and coordinate appointments for treatments, referrals, and consultations.

Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain patient records and charts in accordance with privacy regulations. Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of treatments, consultations, and financial transactions. Manage dental office databases and utilize practice management software effectively.

Office Support: Perform general office duties such as managing incoming and outgoing mail, ordering supplies, maintaining a clean reception area, and managing patient files. Coordinate with other staff members, including dental assistants and hygienists, to ensure efficient workflow.

Patient Communication: Communicate with patients to confirm appointments, follow up on missed appointments, and address any concerns or inquiries. Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone calls, responding to emails, and resolving patient issues or complaints.

Continuing Education: Stay updated on dental terminology, treatment procedures, and insurance policies to provide accurate information to patients and colleagues. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
